ART AND ENVIRONMENT/SACRISTAN MINISTRY
The Art & Environment ministry assists with the vital “behind the scenes” work of transforming our worship environment for the different liturgical seasons of the year: Ordinary Time, Advent, Christmas, Lent, the Triduum, Easter and Feast Days. The ministry of liturgical environment goes far beyond decorating. Ministers of art and environment, through prayerful and informed use of signs and symbols, enable the assembly to enter more fully into worship.
Sacristans make sure the sacramental supplies (hosts, wine, chalices, linens, etc.) are in place before Mass. There is also an opportunity to assist with washing and ironing linens; cleaning water fonts and refilling holy water, and dusting the main altar, the day chapel and the sacristy.
